About SFMRG

We are dedicated to preserving the legacy of Steve Ferguson through maintaining his grounds and promoting the sport he loved.

Welcome to the Steve Ferguson Memorial Retriever Grounds Inc. It is our goal to maintain and enhance the beautiful grounds Steve built on his farm in Emporia Viginia. These grounds will continue to be available for retriever training, field trials, hunt test and other retriever events because of Steve's wonderful family. We are offering memberships for amateur and professional retriever trainers. Please browse through our website for more information on membership and scheduled events. We hope you will take this opportunity to join us in utilizing some of the finest retriever training grounds on the East coast. 

SMFRG was founded by the three clubs of which Steve was a member; Blue Ridge Retriever Club, Mid-Atlantic Hunting Retriever Club, and Tidewater Retriever Club. Members of these clubs are SFMRG Officers, Board Members, and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to keeps Steve's dream alive.

Steve will be in our hearts forever as we continue the careful stewardship of these spectacular retriever training grounds.
